This is an artist’s impression of the biggest and brightest starbirth region seen in the universe to date. The supercluster, identified in 2003 after being detected by the Hubble Telescope as a gravitationally magnified smear of light, contains 1 million ultra-hot stars. For comparison, the nearby Orion Nebula starbirth region contains only four blue-hot stars.
